Late-Night Office Security

When running an office, it is important to make sure that you are keeping your staff both happy and safe, but feeling confident that you are keeping them safe can become difficult when they stay late at night. If keeping your staff who go want to stay late is something of concern for you, there are a couple of things you can do to ensure that they will not be at risk if they stay late, and especially if they are staying alone.

One thing that can be done to ensure your employees’ safety after hours is to make sure that there is a clear plan for those who are last in the office. It can be helpful to create a system in which the last few people in the office make sure to notify each other that they are the last ones, and also that they notify others of when they are leaving. Along with this, it can be helpful to make sure that either all doors are locked, or that only one if left unlocked when there are fewer people left. This helps to make everyone aware when they are alone and when there are less people in the office later at night.

Another thing that can be done to ensure office safety for those who work late is to install a security camera system at the entrances to the office. This provides two layers of security because it is a deterrent for any unwanted visitors who may attempt to come into the office, and it also records anyone who is entering and exiting the office.

Key Card System

An additional layer of security that can be applied is a key card system. In this case, employees can be given key cards that will unlock doors to the office. In this case, the doors to the office can remain locked from the outside at all times, or just during certain hours of the day. This would not only provide security after hours, but would also have the potential to provide security during the day if this was something that you chose to apply to the office 24 hours a day. This is also something that can be coupled with a security camera system for additional security.

Both the combination and individual use of all of these systems can help to secure your workplace, especially for employees that stay after hours and are sometimes left at the office alone, and can give you the peace of mind that your workplace is always a safe place.

The Options with Intercoms

In an office situation, depending upon the location and the kind of products that you keep in your office, there are different levels of security that you might want to consider, especially when you have a situation where you are in need of keeping your office doors locked through the duration of the day. In this case, it can become a hassle to have employees going to the door so often because it can be disruptive to the workday. So in this case, many employers might ask, what can I do to secure my workplace, but also limit interruptions to promote productivity? There are a few answers to this question, and it will all depend on how secure and how complex you want your system to be.

In terms of building codes, this is likely going to mean something that will lock only from the outside, making it easy for people to leave in case of emergency. Depending on the kind of locks the doors in your office building have and if they are capable of locking from only one side, this may require you to change some of the locks. Additionally, you will have to make sure that you have doors that close on their own so that the doors can lock again after each person walks through them.

When considering the intensity of your system, you will have to consider a few things, primarily the level of security that you desire. The first option is to have a door that is always locked with a doorbell. This situation, however, would be one in which someone has to go let whomever is at the door in. The next option would be to always have your door locked, and use an intercom to screen those asking for permission to enter your building. In this case, you would still need to get up and physically let someone in. An intercom with an additional door release would be the next step. In this case, you can communicate with the person who wants to come in, and let them in remotely. After that, the next upgrade is to have a video intercom with a door release. This will also allow you to see people that are requesting access. The final and highest level of security, and also the most complex, is a standalone camera with an intercom that has a video recorder, as well as a door release. These are the levels of systems that one could use to maintain security in an office space.

In any situation, you need to consider all of the components that can come with a buzzer system. You need to make sure you have the proper hardware in terms on entry ways and locks, you have to consider to what degree you want to monitor or record who is coming into your building, and you need to make sure that whatever you do, you are in compliance with all building and fire codes.

What should you look for in a video surveillance system?

Video surveillance systems can be beneficial for a number of reasons. They are often installed to prevent burglaries and vandalism, but can also be used to promote neighborhood or office safety, in addition to increasing peace of mind if used in a home environment. When installing a video surveillance system, whether it is for your home, your office, or for any other setting, there are a number of things to consider. First, you need to think about the area that you want to keep any eye on, as well as the type of surveillance system and cameras you want. All of these factors will help you to decide what kind of system is best for your situation.

The first question you want to consider is how many cameras do you think that you will need? Think about the size of the property you are looking to protect, and the perspective that a camera will you give you in various locations. Additionally, you need to consider what the areas are that you want to cover. If there are outdoor areas, you need cameras that can stand up to weather, whereas for an indoor setting you would not need to look for weatherproof options, which can often be more expensive. You also need to consider the time of day that you will be using your system: daytime, nighttime, or both. All of these factors play will play into your decision about what kind of camera you will need.

After deciding what types of cameras you need for your space, you will want to think about the specific places that you want to have your cameras to be that will give you the best and widest ranges of visibility. These places will likely be at entrances and exits to the building, near garage doors, and by exterior or unattached buildings. If the video surveillance system is for a place of business, you will likely want to consider what areas typically have high traffic, and target these areas for camera installation.

Something else to consider when thinking about a video surveillance system is how you want to set up your data storage system. There are many options where you can save video footage onto a hard drive, and other options that save to this data into a cloud for storage. Along with this you will want to consider how much storage you think you will need. This will depend on two factors that affect the amount of data your system will use: both the quality of videos, and how long you plan to save video footage for. One final thing to consider is whether you will want to have access to a camera’s live feed, or if you will only want to be able to go back and look at footage when necessary. This will also contribute to the amount of storage space you’ll need, as well as help you to determine if your system will need the capability to connect to the Internet. This will also help you to determine if you want to have an analog camera, or an IP camera.

Once you have thought through this criteria and made decisions about what you think will work best for you and your space, you will be ready to look for a video surveillance system!
